Real Beauty

I get to teach a photography class to the Young Women in May. I've always wanted to show them that even supermodels and actresses are not as perfect as they look in pictures. Stop expecting something of themselves that's unattainable, right? So, to demonstrate I thought I'd show them how easy it is to manipulate someone's picture to look much better than the original. I couldn't pick on anyone else, so I thought I'd use myself as an example. After lots of fun time Photoshopping, here's the result. What do you think??

A Little Cutie

This is my one of my favorite kinds of photo sessions. Who can blame me? Little Samantha is adorable. And I love this short blessing dress... just enough poof and yet not so long that you can't see the baby's eyes and the whole dress together.

If you're considering scheduling some pictures, I am currently booked out to July. For the sake of my sanity, family, calling, etc I am going to try to stick to my rule of 2 sessions a month. You can request a session date here: http://www.bphotogenic.com/book.html

Out of a Cereal Box

Gavin is a great home teacher. At least in my opinion bringing scientific experiments and games - always relating to some lesson is pretty great. In fact, I've accused him of giving us sub-standard FHE lessons compared to his home teaching lessons! Of course, this is not true. The other week, Eleanor saw a periscope on a cartoon. So, for FHE Dad rises to the challenge to make one out of a cereal box and some small mirror tiles I have for scrapbooking. In no more than 20 minutes we have a working periscope for Eleanor's spying pleasure!

Here she is peeking over the chair at us.

I used my little camera to get a picture of her through the periscope - not bad for a reflection! Mad cereal box skills, I must say. Now, don't you wish you had a home teacher like that?

Who Needs a Money Tree if I Could Grow Dimples!

I ran across these pictures today in my archives. What's the point of having more than 15,000 pictures if I don't ever look at them, right?!

If only we could plant this sapling in the yard to see if another smart, funny, and cute little girl would grow! Unfortunately, she wouldn't stay in the hole long enough to find out.

And this one just melts my heart. I'm thinking of another canvas to go along with the princess picture from a month ago. Can you tell I'm really needing, well, clement weather as Gavin calls it! Temple Square in June, ahh beautiful. I'm looking forward to being there for a wedding this year too! Thanks David for the occassion.

The Promise of Spring

Last fall my sweet friends planted these flowers for me as a special gift. Thank you for giving me some beauty to behold this spring. I love it! Here's a spring quote for your day... "The day the Lord created hope was probably the same day he created Spring." ~Bern Williams

The Big Birthday Girl

Gavin kept trying to tell Eleanor she would be 3 on her next birthday, but she would not have it. Just to prove she could be rebellious already, she turned 5 this week! She told me in the morning that she thought she was a little bigger already. I'm afraid I have to agree.

So, here she is measuring her progress against Kyle - don't worry honey - they were just measuring. Isn't Kyle sweet to bend his knees!

What better way to spend your birthday than a lovely spring day at the zoo!

Here is one of my favorites from the day. Not bad for the little purse camera.
