So, naturally, I'm a bit suspicious when he says there is going to be a meteor shower or some other celestial event. But, last night we watched the lunar eclipse (the last for two more years). Here are some pictures of that celestial event. It was a bit hazy, but at least not snowing this time!

Celestial Events
Gavin and I have a history of watching celestial events together. It all started when we were dating. He said there was going to be an amazing meteor shower. He said we could see it better up the canyon. He said it would probably stop snowing soon... Well, meteor shower or not, as I recall, we both saw stars. :)

Fun with Food
So, I decided to try this fun food idea my friend Maria gave me to make Jello oranges. I knew Eleanor would enjoy it, but I wasn't prepared for Gavin's reaction. After all, he doesn't really like jello - not having grown up with it as a fruit group like I did. However, he was fascinated by them, tried everything short of examining them with a magnifying glass, ate more than his fair share, and even asked me if we could make some for him to take to work to show his boss! :) So ladies, you know they say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach... If you haven't tried Jello Oranges yet, now might be a good time.
Jello Oranges
1 box orange jello
2 large oranges
Cut oranges in half. Remove fruit (I used a melon baller).
Dissolve jello with 3/4 cup boiling water then add 3/4 cup cold water.
Put orange halves in muffin tin (to hold upright) and pour in jello.
Put in refrigerator until set. When set, cut into slices and enjoy!

From Her Point of View
Today we listened to President Hinckley's funeral. The remembrances were very touching. It was amazing to hear that 1/3 of the members of the church were baptized while he was the prophet! I didn't think Eleanor was paying much attention, but she sat down and drew this sweet picture of President Hinckley. He's holding his scriptures. I love the big smile she gave him, so very appropriate for the positive, cheerful man he was. And tall of stature in so many ways.
